Low-cost construction machines intake systems are designed to be high maintenance
Construction machines are extremely price competitive. Their relatively low cost coupled with strong competition forces the Manufacturer to weigh between quality components and costs. With few exceptions the ultimate determiner of what goes on a machine is cost. For this reason, options that would decrease your cost of maintenance on the machine are high priced options. Not all precleaners do what they advertise
Companies that specialize in filters sell precleaners to help their filter sales. For this reason not all precleaners do what they advertise. In many cases they prematurely dirty the filter.
